Bring the Bible to Life!
A visit to Sight & Sound is truly a unique experience. Story, song and spectacular staging bring the Bible to life on stage. With professional actors attired in elaborate costumes, meticulously detailed sets towering up to 40 feet high, trained animals, unmatched special effects and memorable music, Sight & Sound shows inspire more than 800,000 guests every year.
More than a play on a stage, Sight & Sound’s epics are known to break through the fourth wall, the imaginary “wall” at the front of the stage as it is known in traditional theatres. By “breaking the fourth wall,” Sight & Sound brings you right into the action, bringing the audience into breathtaking moments and transforming our entire theatre into an adventure.
Sight & Sound Theatres is the largest faith-based live theatre in the country and has been described as “Christian Broadway.” Last year, nearly a million people from around the world came to experience a production at one of Sight & Sound’s theatres in Lancaster County, PA., and Branson, MO. The Lancaster County location is one of the top three theatre destinations in the country.
The name “Sight & Sound” was inspired by the teaching of Jesus found in Matthew 13:10-23. The disciples asked Jesus why he spoke to the people in parables or stories. Jesus replied that even though people were seeing, they did not really see. Even though they were hearing, they did not truly hear or understand what they heard.
It is our goal to visualize and dramatize Biblical truth through live stage productions – to illustrate truth in the same way that Jesus did, by storytelling. Our desire is that our audience will gain clear understanding and inspiration through these presentations, believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and deepen their relationship with our Father through Him.
Many inspiring productions have come to the Sight & Sound stages over the years, such as Colors of Praise, The Splendor of Easter, Joys of Christmas, The Eternal Flame, Miracle of Christmas, Noah – the Musical, Abraham & Sarah – A Journey of Love, Daniel and the Lions’ Den, Behold the Lamb, Ruth, Psalms of David, Voices of Christmas, In the Beginning, Joseph, Jonah, and Moses.
